Breast Augmentation has become one of the most gratifying cosmetic surgery procedures available for today’s woman.  There are many options available for the woman who decides that breast enlargement is right for her.  The more you know about the procedure and options involved in this type of cosmetic surgery, the better equipped you will be to make the decision that is best for you.

Dr. Dobson believes that surgeons should be gentle with the body’s tissues. Make as few incisions as possible to achieve a beautiful look.  Dr. Dobson offers not only the traditional methods for placement of the breast implants transaxillary, periareolar, or inframammary, but also the endoscopic techniques that leave virtually no "tell-tale" scars on or around the breast.  All of our patients' breast implants are customized to their specific body type after consultation with the patient.  Patients may choose if they want their implants placed above or under the muscle.  As you can see from the diagram there are four different approaches  for breast augmentation:

November 17, 2006 the FDA approved this new and improved semi-solid silicone implant. MemoryGel™ breast implants are filled with Mentor’s proprietary silicone gel.  They are made of cohesive polymers that form a solid unit. These gels hold together uniformly, while retaining the natural "give" that resembles actual breast tissue. The new and improved silicone implants are not a liquid. A variety of profiles (which refers to the amount of forward projection off the chest wall, in relation to the base width of the implant) are available. Upon examination Dr. Dobson can choose a better match between desired breast projection and your individual body frame.
